Hello and welcome! I am a New Zealand freelance photographer and blogger who has been wandering the globe since 2013.
With a taste for the finer things in life and a passion for roughing it through less explored lands I aim to provide insight as to what it’s like living and experiencing life on both ends of the spectrum. Whether it’s five-star hotels in Paris or tiny villages in West Africa, I like to say yes to every opportunity that comes my way, and share these experiences with you.
Now based in Paris, I write about luxury and budget travel, lifestyle and cultural events with an honest and witty approach, and of course- lots of beautiful photographs.
I’ve designed the site to share my stories from behind the lens. The moments of beauty, tips and failures about experiencing the world as a young, solo, career driven female going it out on her own.
If you have any topics you would like me to explore or would like to inquire about collaborations and photography services please get in touch below.

-More About Me-
I took my first big overseas trip with my mum when I was only 5 years-old. She bravely ventured on her own with me to three different continents, and apart from a couple of mischievous solo adventures, I was apparently a great little traveler.
As soon as I was old enough, I signed up to do a student exchange with AFS. I spent a year with a local family in Tunisia, and it completely changed my life path. It was undoubtedly the best decision I have ever made, and I know for sure I would not be the same person I am today without that experience (you can read more about it here). I finished the year with a desire bigger than ever to travel and explore the world.
I went back to New Zealand and finished high school, settled down for a little while and got a Bachelor degree in Communications, then a couple of months later decided to leave the land of the long white cloud behind for good in 2013.
I fell in love with photography as a teenager- and have never fallen out of love with it. I initially studied photojournalism, and found my passion lay in telling stories and sharing the world in beautiful images. However, when I moved to Paris for good, I start working with people visiting Paris who wanted memorable photos of themselves in the city. I loved seeing how happy my clients were when they got the finished results, and I always had a lot of fun on set meeting and shooting people from all over the world. So now I also do a lot of portrait and a bit of commercial photography. You can see more of my photography portfolio here.
I started the blog Ainsley About The World in 2013 while working in under incredibly difficult circumstances in Turkey, as a way of venting, and for my mum and best friend to read about all the crazy things that were happening in my life at the time. Turns out other people found my stories quite amusing, and my blog began being shared and viewed by people I did not know. I kept this up while volunteering in Ghana, and recently decided to turn it in to a more general travel blog, focused on helping others travel and sharing my experiences both luxurious and budget.
